Nevermore: Raven Flight · last updated 8 October 2026

  • Nevermore is free to play, has no accounts, shows no ads, never tracks you across other apps or websites, and never sells data. Its optional in-app purchases are handled by Apple.
  • To balance the game and fix crashes, it sends anonymous play statistics and crash reports. You can switch this off at any time: tap the settings (gear) button on the title screen and turn off Share stats.
  • Leaderboards are run by Apple's Game Center, under Apple's privacy policy.

Who we are

Nevermore is developed and published by Antonín Wingender, an individual developer based in the Czech Republic ("we"). For anything about this policy, write to antonin.awsoft@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the processing described here.

What stays with you

Your best score, the souls you have collected and bought, the ravens you own and the number of runs you have played are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own iCloud account through Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so they follow you to your other devices and come back after you reinstall the game. We cannot see that iCloud data; Apple stores it under Apple's privacy policy. Each copy of the game also keeps a random install number there and in the device's keychain, so your devices' progress adds up instead of overwriting each other; it never reaches us.

The raven you fly and your music, sound, language and statistics settings stay on the device only. Everything on the device is deleted when you delete the game.

Anonymous statistics and crash reports

When Share stats is on, which it is by default, the game sends:

  • A summary of each run: the score, how long it lasted, the number of flaps, souls collected, soul chains, how far into the night you got, the medal, the raven you flew, and technical details such as pauses, window resizes and frame-rate hitches.
  • A few other moments: unlocking or choosing a raven, changing the music, sound, language or statistics setting, opening the leaderboards, and folding or unfolding a foldable iPhone.
  • The soul shop: opening it, and what happens to an in-app purchase: which item, when a purchase starts, is completed (with the souls it gave and the price and currency you paid), is waiting for approval, is cancelled or fails (with a technical reason), and when you restore purchases. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details or your Apple Account.
  • Technical error codes when Game Center or the iCloud sync runs into a problem.
  • When the game is installed, updated, opened or sent to the background.
  • Crash reports: technical details of a crash, such as the stack trace and the device state, sent the next time you open the game.
  • With all of the above: a random identifier created by the game when you first open it, your device model and type, the operating system and app version, screen size, language and region setting, time zone, whether you are on Wi-Fi or mobile data, and whether the game came from TestFlight.

The random identifier is not connected to your name, email, Apple Account or Game Center identity, and the game never reads your device's advertising identifier. We look at these statistics only in aggregate, to see how the game is played and where it breaks.

Your IP address reaches our analytics provider with every upload. It is used to estimate an approximate location (country and city) and is then discarded instead of being stored. When you switch Share stats off, the game stops sending anything from that moment on.

Why we process it

We process the statistics and crash reports on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the game fair, fun and working (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by switching Share stats off.

Who processes it

  • PostHog, our analytics and crash reporting provider, stores the statistics in its EU Cloud in Frankfurt, Germany (PostHog's privacy policy).
  • Apple handles in-app purchases, iCloud and Game Center. We never receive your payment details or your Apple Account.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website. The website itself uses no cookies and no analytics.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the game sends your scores to the Nevermore leaderboards and shows your rank. Game Center is provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Apple shows the leaderboards, including your Game Center nickname, to other players and to us as the developer. The game's own statistics never include your Game Center identity.

How long we keep it

Statistics and crash reports are kept for as long as they help us improve the game, and for no longer than seven years. Everything stored on your device is deleted when you delete the game; progress synced to your iCloud stays in your iCloud account, which Apple manages.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, and you can object to the processing. Because the statistics are not connected to who you are, we usually cannot tell which records are yours; switching Share stats off or deleting the game stops all future collection. Write to antonin.awsoft@gmail.com and we will reply within one month.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority, in particular where you live or work. Ours is the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, Czech Republic, uoou.gov.cz.

Children

Nevermore has no accounts and no chat, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The statistics are anonymous, and a parent can switch Share stats off in the game's settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
